Love is in the air… or is that just smog? Nevertheless, the last few months have been filled with great engagement sessions. Here are some of the highlights from Venice, LACMA, Pasadena City Hall, and the Santa Monica Pier.

Whether it be Venice, the Santa Monica Pier, Union Station, or any of our other locations, there will always be the nose picking or tantrum throwing at our family portrait sessions. Here are a few of the most memorable:

It is my misfortune to inform all of you that La Cienega Park is no longer available as a Townsley Portraits location.
The Beverly Hills Police Department recently informed us that photography sessions at any of the Beverly Hills parks is forbidden.
If you currently have a photo shoot scheduled for La Cienega Park, please consider Rancho Park as an alternative location.
Here is a look back at some of the great photo shoots at La Cienega Park.

If you have a Sunday photo shoot with Townsley Portraits, Stuart might be wearing a shinny new medal. Don’t worry, he doesn’t always walk around wearing a medal. In fact, he won it that morning. That’s right… after running a half marathon in the morning, Stuart still has a full day of photo shoots all afternoon. Be sure to comment on it… his legs are probably killing him.
Townsley Portraits has many locations throughout the Los Angeles area. They can be found here: www.townsleyportraits.com/locations . We primarily shoot within 5 miles of our office. We are able to offer photography sessions at a lower cost because we book multiple families at the same location. We reserve the right to cancel a shoot if not enough people signed up for the date. Unfortunately, some locations have restrictions. They are listed below:
Balboa Park – We are there once a month. It is a location that is very difficult for us to get to. If you cannot make the designated dates, please come to a location closer and we will be able to help schedule you better.
The Santa Monica Pier and Union Station – If we cannot schedule more than one family for the date, we need to reschedule. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Melanie’s family are one of my all time favorite clients (is that ok to say?) Turns out Mrs Singer (Josh’s mom) is also fan of our blog/ Facebook page. We had an amazing time shooting her wedding. They all got a kick out of the “new me” lol. Josh and M are so much fun and we got great shots. After the Hora music finished they partied to the iPod for a couple more hours. My only regret is we didn’t go down to spend the weekend at that hotel it is awesome! The next day Curt and I got to run in the neighborhood, workout in the gym of the hotel and swim in the pool.
Thanks to Brad at Nefesh Music, Penina Muller, the staff at Rancho Bernardo and my favorite 2nd photographer/ and mentor Curtis Dahl.

We had the pleasure of meeting a couple who met under the most unconventional circumstances. The Carriers were obsessed with the addicting game, Mafia Wars, on FaceBook, where Diane Carrier played under the alias, Lili Von Shtupp. For all you Blazing Saddles enthusiasts, Lili Von Shtupp is not your typical woman, she is seductive and radical, and Carrier, played as Lili. While playing she started talking with this man who she learns is from England. Over the next 9 months, they became extremely close and eventually fell in love, with out even meeting in person. He proposed to her over text message and she was more than thrilled. The Carriers wed less than a month ago after knowing each other for a year and half. She is now moving to England in October, where they can finally live happily ever after.
There is this new fad for people coming to Los Angeles on vacation and it is SWEEPING THE NATION! Recently, we have been getting customers from out of state, who along with Segway tours, dining out, shopping, and going to amusement parks, decided to come to us to document their awesome vacation with a few family portraits. They found everything they needed for vacation using Groupon.com, a web site that offers coupons and other discounts for everything from facials, to restaurants, to concert tickets and bus tours. We found out that the Beitzel family mastered the art of vacationing on a budget, and this year it was their anniversary and a trip to LA. They found our promo for a $20 photo shoot on Groupon.com and called to schedule an appointment when they were in LA. Ben and Lorrie were such fun people, that we had to choose a place to match: Santa Monica Pier. We walked on the beach, played the carnival games, and had such a great time. We hope that they will think about us on their next trip out here and every time they look at their anniversary pictures.

The Cochranes are another family travelling to Los Angeles that found us on Groupon and loved our awesome deals. They met while teaching English in Japan, but are currently living in Manchester, England (UK) and was in Los Angeles for a wedding. Besides for getting an awesome deal on a photo shoot, they also took a segway tour, went to the beach, and saw all of the sites in Hollywood. They also decided that the Santa Monica Pier was a great location to photograph their vacation with their baby girl. Our shoot was so much fun, and they loved the pictures, which they got before their plane ride home.
